Here at UWSU we offer a wide range of marketing and advertising opportunities that we can cater to your business needs to help you tap into that lucrative student market. UWSU has an advantage of being spread across four major sites in central London, we don’t just have one SU space but four. We can work with external clients to cater packages to best suit their needs and products, whether that be advertising on our ever growing social media platforms or offering you the opportunity to come on site and grab the attention of our students face to face.
We have two main print media advertising options here at UWSU, the QH is our student lead newspaper, and is the official voice of the University of Westminster Students. The newspaper is handed out by our student promo team on each of our sites.
As well as the QH we also have a Smoke Magazine which we publish three a year, this contains all information regarding the upcoming term, pervious events and articles written by our students.

At each of our SU offices we have digital asset boards which display visual and sound information to our students. We can offer up 20 seconds either in video or image format on a roll of 60seconds. These boards are also used internal for the SU for updates on events, scores on our sports teams and marketing for the union.
We also have six plasma screens at our Undercroft bar at our Harrow campus. The plasma screens work on the same system as the ones outside our offices, where we can offer a 20-second clip every 60 seconds. Our bar is a busy area with a capacity of 250, lunchtimes are prime time to advertise and attract our students.
Social media is something that we pride ourselves on at UWSU, we have an active social media presence across all platforms. We have nearly 10,000 likes on Facebook and 7,000 followers on Twitter. We recently launched the location of secret party via Snapchat and are always looking for new ways to combine social media in campaigns as we understand that this is platform for to best in engage with students.
We also offer opportunities to advertise to our students via our website, we have limited online spaces available so for key time periods we ask that clients book early in advance.
The University of Westminster Students’ Union (UWSU) has policies that do not allow the promotion of certain products, services and companies.
1.1: We reserve the right to check and amend any promotional material or artwork prior to sign-off or before the event to meet UWSU or University of Westminster copy guidelines.
1.2: We reserve the right to refuse distribution of any material we deem unsuitable. Our decision is final.
1.3: An advertising booking does not constitute an endorsement by UWSU and any promotional material should not suggest such support unless we state otherwise.
1.4: If you are unsure about your promotion please send a copy of the material by email to email@example.com .
1.5: In the event that we refuse distribution of any material, no refunds will be given.
All orders must be paid in full within 30 days on receipt of invoice.
All cancellations must be made by email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
3.1: Where a cancellation is made more than 30 days before the publication or event date, a full refund will be given.
3.2: Where a cancellation is made 15-30 days before the publication or event date, 50% of the agreed fee is chargeable.
3.3: Where a cancellation is made 14 days or less before the publication or event date, 100% of the agreed fee is chargeable.
3.4: For event sponsorship, the day scales mentioned above count from the intended release date of our promotional material, and not from the date of the actual event.
3.5: For UWSU Dragons sports kit sponsorship, the day scales mentioned above count from the intended order date of our kit, and not from the date(s) of any corresponding fixtures.
In the event that for any reason UWSU shall cancel all or part of a publication or event or be unable to perform their obligation under this agreement, the liability of UWSU shall be limited to the refund of any payments made by the advertiser to UWSU under this agreement.
5.1: Exhibitors must bring their own promotional material, banners, equipment, flyers, merchandise, food and drink giveaways, etc on the day. Alcohol is not permitted for distribution. UWSU is unable to keep any equipment before the Freshers’ Fairs.
5.2: Exhibitors must make their own travel arrangements to the Freshers’ Fairs. UWSU is unable to reimburse any travel or parking expenses.
5.3: Lunch and breaks are taken at the exhibitors’ own jurisdiction. UWSU cannot be held responsible for any stalls left unattended. UWSU is unable to reimburse any food or drink expenses.
5.4: If you are attending more than one Fresher’s Fair, UWSU cannot keep any equipment overnight. Exhibitors must make their own arrangements to take their own equipment at the end of a Fresher’s Fair and bring it back to the next fair.
5.5: UWSU will try our best to accommodate everyone who requires a power supply for electrical equipment, however this cannot be guaranteed.
5.6: Each booking is expected to represent one trading name, operating from one location. Exhibitors may only use their stall to exhibit their own products, services and promotions. Promotion of a third party company is not permitted unless a sponsorship deal has been agreed between your company and a third party company prior to the event. UWSU reserves the right to remove any material/organisations not adhering to these terms and conditions.
5.7: UWSU cannot offer exclusivity to any company under any circumstances. Other companies are permitted to promote similar products at any of our Freshers’ Fairs. If you decide to leave the Freshers’ Fair before the advertised finish time due to another company promoting a similar product or service, no refund will be given.
5.8: A maximum of 4 people are permitted to occupy a stall. Any more will be asked to leave.
5.9: Exhibitors are required to comply with the Data Protection Act in relation to any data collected or obtained at the Freshers’ Fairs.
5.10: Exhibitors are responsible at all times for the safety and security of their property. UWSU cannot be held responsible for any stalls left unattended. UWSU will accept no responsibility for the delivery, theft or loss of any goods at the Fresher’s Fairs.
5.11: All electrical equipment must be PAT tested and have a certificate to prove compliance. A copy of the certificate must be presented if requested on the day.
5.12: Due to logistical issues, UWSU may determine the locations of each exhibitor’s stalls prior to the Freshers’ Fairs. If this is the case, our decision is final and cannot be changed.
5.13: UWSU’s decision is final. Failure to comply with these terms will result in your eviction from the Freshers’ Fair and University premises, and no refund will be given.
You shall indemnify us against loss, actions, costs, claims, demands, expenses and liabilities whatsoever (if any) which we may incur at common law or by statute in respect of personal injury or to death of any person or in respect of any loss or destruction of or damage to property (other than as a result of any default or neglect of ourselves or of any person for whom we are responsible) which shall have occurred in connection with any work executed by you under this contract.
Where a signatory does not have the necessary authority to make purchase orders and has signed this order, UWSU reserves the right to pursue any claim for outstanding monies from the signatory themselves.
Adverts and advertising
8.1: UWSU reserves the right to refuse unsuitable copy.
8.2: UWSU does not accept any responsibility for any loss or damage resulting from error, late publication, non-publication or failure of any cause whatsoever.
8.3: Advertisers must warrant that the information in their entry is accurate and not a breach of the Trade Description Act (1968) or any subsequent Act.
8.4: UWSU does not accept any responsibility for inaccurate or misleading information.
