► About Us

We exist to…

independently represent the views of students of the University of Westminster, and engender a sense of community by providing cultural and recreational activities for our members.

We Believe…

that every student at the University of Westminster should have equal access to the best education the university can provide and we will continuously fight for this.

in anonymous marking. Every student should be marked on the basis of their submitted work and nothing else.

students are entitled to constructive timely feedback on all their university work. How can you improve if no one guides you?

students must receive their assessed coursework and relevant feedback within an agreed timescale. You have to meet deadlines, so should the University.

all students should get a receipt when submitting coursework. Currently there is no process of providing evidence of submission.

the environment is important, and that both the Union and the University should act in a way that reflects its importance.

our students are entitled to the best possible university experience, and we will continuously strive to improve all aspects of your experience in the Westminster community.

What is UWSU?

Welcome to the University of Westminster academic year 2008/09!  I’m sure many of you have heard of the Students’ Union, but may be unsure of what it actually is, well here’s a quick introduction to what we are.

The University of Westminster Students’ Union (UWSU) is an exclusive members club, open only to University of Westminster students. We are independent of the University, and we’re here for one reason. You, our members!

We are here for you whether that is for a sandwich, a game of football, academic advice, volunteering in your community and a wide range of other activities and support. Our elected officers campaign at the University and national level to work to improve the student experience for Westminster students.

Who we are…

The Executive committee are elected each year by the membership from the membership.  That means we are run by you and your fellow students. The committee consists of four full time Sabbatical Officers, and fourteen part time officers with a diverse range of roles to ensure effective representation for all of our members.

Our main offices are sited at Marylebone, and Harrow, and are open from 10am-4pm daily during term time.
